Ayurveda and Siddha Medicines

The true history of Ayurveda starts from the time of the Holy books, the Vedas. Ancient mythology contends that the concept and essence of Ayurveda was revealed by the creator of the world himself – Lord Brahma.

Ayurveda is known as the fifth Veda and it deals with the Longevity of Human life.The aim of Ayurvedic medicine is to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit. This is believed to help prevent illness and promote wellness. Ayurvedic medicine uses a variety of products and techniques to cleanse the body and restore balance. Some of these products may be harmful if used improperly or without the direction of a trained practitioner. for example, some herbs can cause side effects or interact with conventional medicines.

Every human being contains elements that can be found in the universe.Health will be good if one’s mind and body are in harmony, and one’s interaction with the universe is natural and wholesome. All things in the universe (both living and nonliving) are joined together.Disease arises when a person is out of harmony with the universe. Disruptions can be physical, emotional, spiritual, or a combination of these.

Sidha Medicine is one of the oldest system of Medicines in India and mankind, it is originated from Tamil Culture. Siddhas are the great scientists of ancient days mainly from Southern India laid foundation for this system of medication. Siddhars were spiritual exponents who possessed the ashta siddhis, or the eight supernatural powers. Sage Agastjiyar is considered the guru of all Sidhars, and the Siddha system is believed to have been handed over to him by Lord Subramania son of the Hindu God – Lord SHIVA and Goddess PARVATHY. So, are the siddhars the followers of Lord Shiva (Shaivaites). Agasthiyar is the first Siddhar, and his disciples and other siddhars of other schools contributed thousands of texts on Siddha, including medicine, and form the propounders of the system in this world.
